What I offer:
I have been trained as a Level I & II practitioner in the Mikao Usui tradition of Reiki by Dr. Kirk Prine, Reiki Teaching Master at Flesh and Spirit Community (www.fleshandspirit.org).
During the Reiki healing session, I will place my hands lightly on different parts of your body. I follow a predetermined sequence of hand placements, having my hands rest on each body placement for 2 to 5 minutes before moving on to the next. Being an empathic practitioner, I sometimes freely move my hands to the areas where I “feel” Reiki is most needed.
The session will begin with you getting onto my massage table and you lying on your back. I will eventually ask you to turn over onto your stomach. You remain fully clothed, minus your shoes, during the entire session.
If you would prefer not to be touched, I can hold my palms a few inches above your reclined body. Either way, Reiki energies flow where it is supposed to. Reiki is a smart energy that automatically flows where the imbalances are in your body regardless of where my hands are placed.
A typical Reiki healing session can last up to 45 minutes.
Rate: Donation based (Typical donation is $20 or more)
To schedule a session, please contact Daniel Borysewicz at firstname.lastname@example.org or (510) 859-4076

What is Reiki:
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
What are the origins of Reiki?
Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Christian educator, developed Reiki in the early 1900’s after 3 weeks of fasting and meditating on Mount Kurama. Dr. Chujiro Hayashi was a naval commander that traveled with Dr. Usui to teach and heal. After Dr. Usui passed on, Dr. Hayashi became the leader of Reiki. Dr. Hayashi passed leadership of Reiki to Mrs. Takata of Hawaii (perhaps because she would not be in Japan and therefore relatively safe and able to continue the practice during WW2). She eventually moved to California, bringing Reiki to the Western world in the 1970s.
Five spiritual precepts have been handed down from Mikao Usui as a part of the oral tradition of the Usui System:
Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, do not anger.
Honor your parents, teachers, and elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude to every living thing.
